Custom Minds has over 10 years experience helping models build portfolios. Our clientele has been widely diverse and thus so has become our photography.

We are constantly on the lookout for reliable, friendly models to add to our books. It makes no difference if you're a new hopeful or already established -- Custom Minds is positive that it can be useful tool in your career.

VARIOUS SHOOTING OPTIONS
Houston has vastly diverse architecture which can allow for many beautiful shooting options. Since we have lived and worked here for close to 3 decades, we can help you locate the best place for your shoot with regards to the time of day, lighting, weather and temperature limitations.

ACCURATE ADVICE
Accurate advice (posing, angle, how to cover imperfections, breathing methods, etc.) Our experienced photographers can assist with poses, giving professional suggestions as to the perfect angle for any pose.

HIGH QUALITY IMAGES
We have the ability to shoot 21MP+ images. This allows for a 16X23" print at 240 PPI. This is an increase in image detail approximately 2-3 times compared to others shooting with other comparable mid ranged SLR's). The more detail in the image, the larger you can print your photo without sacrificing detail.

HIGH-SPEED CONTINUOUS SHOOTING
Continuous shooting allows us to capture the right look at the right moment. We can accurately capture everything, even wisps of smoke.

DIGITAL EDITING
Life isn't perfect, but your photos should be! We can remove acne, scratches, bruises, suntan lines and other blemishes you might have on the day of your shoot. .

PHOTO PACKAGES
Immediately following the shoot, the models receive a CD/DVD with all their photos.

MAKEUP
If you do not wish to apply your own makeup, we have experienced make-up artists on call. You are also welcome to bring your own make-up artist.

"What should I look for when purchasing a photo pack from a company?"

You always want to make sure before your session that you will have total control of your pictures. Always look for a company that offers a variety of different outfits to be shot in, as well as a professional make-up artist and hair stylist.

"Which would be better: to be photographed at a studio or on location?"
Professional pictures should be shot both in a studio and on location. Versatility is everything in this business, and two different locations will provide adaptability. Custom Minds Photography Studios knows the importance of versatility and offers both.

"What should I bring to the photo shoot?"
You should have several diverse looks, be sure to include outfits for the different seasons and the time of day. Agencies and clients want to see how you look in every light. By including this to your digital or paper comp cards, you will let agencies and clients see you in different ways.

"How should I prepare for the shoot?"
You should always ask before the shoot how you should dress or prepare yourself. If there is going to be a professional make-up and hair stylist, let them do it for you. They most likely will prefer or ask that you do not wear any make-up or hair spray. It is much easier to work with a clean look. The job of the make-up artist and hair stylist is to make you look your best, so let them work their magic.

"How much should I spend for a photo shoot?"
There is really no set price that you should look for in a photographer. High fashion prints can run way up in thousands, others such as test shots can run a couple of hundred. The question you should ask yourself is where do you want to go with modeling and what are the feasible possibilities. Are you looking to get into magazines or walk down the runway? It all depends on whom you see yourself working with.

"Do I really need professional pictures?"
You can think of pictures done by a professional photographer as a really good resume. Modeling is competitive. Professional pictures can make an individual model stand out amongst the rest of the models. Pictures are never mandatory, but are highly recommended.
