Junie the Rescue Boxer

Well it’s been a whirlwind the last few months and things are better than ever! Yesterday was Christmas eve and we did lots of celebrating. I have so many new toys and snacks that I don’t even know what to do with all of them. It all started with a trip to my extended family’s house for dinner and then opening presents (my favorite part!) They have this huge fluffy Alaskan Malamute there. We don’t really know each other yet but it’s okay. She likes to lay around all day and I’m happy to be with my family and that’s all that matters. I hope Christmas comes around soon again because I can really get used to getting spoiled like this

Today was such a fun day! We went to 3, yes 3, different dog parks today. The weather was so nice and cool that my parents couldn’t resist spending all of it outside. We started off at this huge dog park that was a long ways away and walked around a few times. I stayed away from the mud and the water though. No princess wants to get dirty There was so much going on but I had a blast. Then we went to a smaller park but it was getting warmer outside so we didn’t stay long. Lastly, we went to this really small, neighborhood-y park close by. I saw a squirrel there and got so excited! He was high up in the tree so I was trying to talk to him so that he could come down and play but he didn’t listen. Too bad for him. Other than that, today was a fabulous day! I wish every day was like this

Junie came into our lives just a month ago but it feels like she’s been here forever. She has been such a great addition to our lives and we are so grateful to have her. From her ever-loving presence to her undeniably sweet character, she has won everyone who’s ever met her over, including us. Almost everyone in our neighborhood knows her and she knows how to work it when they’re around so she can get a treat or some love. Her little happy dance when she knows she’s about to be walked is the cutest ever, and it’s so adorable to watch her when she gets excited. When we adopted her, she was still pretty skinny but with some TLC, she has gained her weight back. She’s as gorgeous as ever! Thanks so much to everyone at LSBR for helping us through this process. We want to especially thank Vicki Veatch for being such a wonderful resource and an excellent foster mom to Junie. Everyone did a wonderful job and God bless you all for everything you do for these dogs.

Lone Star Boxer Rescue Success Story

well it’s been awhile since i’ve last updated you guys on how i’m doing. you know why? because life is good! i got my second heartworm treatment shot a few days ago so hopefully in just a few weeks i’m gonna be completely heartworm free!! yay! until then, i’m always basking in the love and attention i get. going for walks is a super fun time because everyone downstairs gives me love and sometimes if i play my cards just right, the man behind the desk gives me a treat

My parents took me out on a little photoshoot a few weeks ago. It was such a blast considering I kept getting yummy treats The big flashing light was scary at first but my mom made me feel at ease and comfortable with it and made me realize that it wouldn’t hurt me. Smiling and looking pretty for the camera was really fun but I got kinda tired of it after awhile though.. modeling is hard work!!

This past week has been interesting. I started coughing a lot a few days ago and then my mom took me to the vet.. I thought they left me there because I had to spend the night. But then they came the next day and picked me up. I was soooo happy to be home again! Especially since they showered me with hugs and kisses all day long.

It has been a week since I went to the vet.   The past week has been filled with lazing around the house taking it easy.  I definately have more energy and am feeling better.  Thanks everyone for the support! 

three weeks remaining on the Heart Work Treatment

I went to the vet yesterday. I knew something was up so I wasn’t really in the mood to eat in the morning. I guess I was a bit nervous to go to the doctor. He was nice. He gave me a shot though and that hurt But then I got to lay down and relax the whole time!!

My family came to pick me up at the end of the day and I was so happy to see them! I’m just a little sore on my right butt right now where I got the shot but I’m doing okay because I’m getting all the loving in the world! I absolutely love getting all the attention I guess the shot made me tired though because I ended up passing out pretty early.

I might have gotten a shot but I got a wonderful present in the mail today. My mom ordered me this beautiful tag that is now displayed proudly on my collar. My name and phone number is listed on the back so that I can always stay in touch with my family. It definitely made up for the shot I got earlier
